Today J.J. Abrams broke the silence and announced the cast
for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, but now according to THR, several of their sources are saying that J.J. Abrams has another substantial female role to
fill.
Earlier this year it was reported, "the
production was seeking a mixed-raced female in her twenties", and Academy
Award Winner Lupita Nyong'o was said to have met with the director and it was
rumored that British actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers was being eyed for a
role, so it's unclear if that role still exists or has been scrapped.
Star Wars: Episode VII stars Harrison
Ford (Solo), Carrie Fisher (Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO),
Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam
Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
