Phil Lord And Chris Miller Turned Down Ghostbusters 3

And when we thought Ghostbusters 3 was finally starting to move along it stopped. A few weeks ago, we reported that Ivan Reitman had step-down from directing the sequel/reboot and that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were reportedly in talks to helm it. Today however things might have taken a turn for the worse as Jeff Sneider from The Wrap tweets that both directors have turned down the project.

Hearing LORD & MILLER ended up walking away from GHOSTBUSTERS 3 job. They were the studio's choice but wanted to keep their options open...

@mjsamps They could very well return to GHOSTBUSTERS, I'm just told the studio is meeting with other directors now in case they don't...

At this point there is no confirmation if in fact the directors, whom are now in post-production on 22 Jump Street, have turned down the gig but if they have this means that Ghostbusters 3, which was supposedly going to start production in early 2015, is once again on the back burner.
