In a recent Q&A at the
Australia's Oz Comic-Con, actor Benedict Cumberbatch denied any involvement in
J.J. Abrams highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII. The actor, who entered
in the director's second entry in the "revival" of the Star Trek
franchise, said that he would have liked to have entered in this new franchise,
but sadly that won't happen.
As for the Doctor Who rumor,
it seems that the actor doesn't have any particular interest in playing the
character.
The Iris @TheIrisAU I’m never gonna play The Doctor, & nothing to do with the Whoniverse
Say what you will, but
disinformation is the name of the game when it comes to these big franchises,
meaning it wouldn't be a complete shock to see a few months from now
Cumberbatch's name in the casting sheet for Star Wars. As for Doctor Who, this
wasn't the first time the actor commented on the subject and his lack of
interest in playing the iconic role.
