Every time a new gamming console
comes out there is a “fight” among the companies and fans about which is
better, but the battle of the consoles begun in earnest back in 1990’s when
Sega and Nintendo went head-to-head on a battle to determine who had the best
video game hardware.
In the book Console Wars: Sega,
Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation, author Blake Harris “draws
on hundreds of interviews to present the first full account of this titanic
corporate battle, which transformed computer games into a global industry that
last year recorded sales of $50 billion (surpassing the film and music
businesses combined).” – Via Booktrade.info
Sony Pictures and producer Scott
Rudin have picked up the rights to adapt the book, which comes out in August,
and brought along Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to write and direct.
Harris will act as an executive producer
and is co-directing a documentary on the same subject.
At this time it’s unclear when
the movie will come out since Rogen and Goldberg are busy adapting Preacher to
AMC, they are developing a hard-R animated comedy and are working on The
Interview starring James Franco.
I’m a Sega man, which are you?
