More Info On The Guardians of the Galaxy Characters - Spoilers

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be a test for Marvel to see if they can successfully introduce other not so famous characters and titles into their cinematic universe.

HitFix as the scoop on some of the characters at play in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax played by Dave Bautista, The Collector by Benicio Del Toro, Nova Prima Rael played by Glenn Close and the ominous villain Thanos.

Regarding Bautista’s character, the news outlet says that: "Driven by revenge, Drax has turned his body into a road map of private misery and loss, with ornate tattoos that tell the story of how he was left alone in the universe, filled with nothing now but rage." They went on to say that "Every single person we spoke to on the set talked about how blown away they were by what Bautista has been doing with the role."

Del Toro’s character: "The Guardians are going to need something from him, and we'll see what happens when Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, Drax, and... Groot all show up on his planet asking for access to something in that collection."

As for Thanos "He may well be an off-screen presence a la The Emperor in the first Star Wars movie," which makes some sense since he is gearing up to be the main Villain in The Avengers 3.

As for Glenn Close, director James Gunn clarified the situation on his Facebook page saying that she will be playing Nova Prima Rael, the higher ranking officer in the Nova Corps. “I don't know where they got this 'Commander' stuff from."

Guardians of the Galaxy, stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Gregg Henry, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly and opens on August 1st, 2014.
