The EW just released the first
image from Tate Taylor’s (The Help) upcoming James Brown biopic, Get on Up,
starring Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul James Brown, Craig Robinson,
Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Jill Scott, Dan Aykroyd and Lennie James.
In Get on Up we will see Brown
(Chadwick Boseman) from his humbling beginnings to the stardom “while
recounting his battle with drug addiction, arrest for domestic violence, and
flirting with financial ruin several times.”
Production is going underway in
Mississippi and the film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 1st.
