Batman vs. Superman is the tree
that keeps on giving. Months after the announcement of DC’s first live action,
big screen superhero team up with the yet untitled Batman vs. Superman, a new
piece of rumor gets spit out of the rumor mill. Last week Warner Bros. announced
that they were postponing the release of Batman vs. Superman because they
wanted to give "the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given
the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the
shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year."
Now however Deadline reports that
they have inside sources claiming that “production is not being delayed and the
main players have been summoned to start work right away.”
It was speculated that the reason
as to why the film was being delayed, besides the studio wanting to give some
time to the filmmakers was because of scheduling conflicts with Ben Affleck who
already had other engagements, namely to direct the pilot for Fox’s The Middle
Man, which according to the news outlet has now been put on hold.
As usual you should take this
with a grain a salt, since it’s highly unlikely that Warner Bros. would be re-scheduling
the film just a week after they announced the delay.
It’s more likely that the film is
indeed delayed but because they want to consolidate their ideas, scripts, cast
and everything else so they can start shooting the Justice League right after
Batman vs. Superman.
