Before
taking on the Batman role, actor/writer and director Ben Affleck is going to
develop a geopolitical thriller set in Africa, in which the actor is expected
to not only star but also direct. The story will focus on a group of mercenaries
hired to kill a warlord who has been victimizing his own people, and according
to Deadline, it is also “an examination of the moral ambiguities of how
philanthropy and foreign assistance veers into modern day neocolonialism”.
