After the excellent 12 Years a Slave, director Steve McQueen is poised to direct a new tv drama for HBO.
According
to Deadline the new drama show, which will air on HBO is a Six Degrees of
Separation meets Shame and explore “a young African-American man’s experience
entering New York high society, with a past that may not be what it seems. “
McQueen
co-wrote the project with World War Z scribe Matthew Michael Carnahan and is
set to direct it, with Russell Simmons as a producer.
At
this point it’s unclear if it will be a series, miniseries or tv movie, but
casting is already being made as the series is being fast tracked to begin
production before the director jumps into his next feature film endeavor.
