After
the critical and box-office success of the very funny 2011 comedy Horrible Bosses,
New Line Cinema was keen on making a sequel, which was set to start production
this fall under the helm of Seth Gordon, who had directed the first one.
Now according
to some reports, Gordon has dropped out of the project which already had actors
Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day signed on to reprise their
respective roles in the movie.
The reason
for Gordon’s departure is because of scheduling. Besides other commitments,
Gordon has his ABC series The Goldbergs to work on and that would conflict with
the movie production.
At this
point New Line Cinema is still keen on beginning the production of the movie in
the Fall and is currently searching for a new director.
