Disney Is Looking To Lower Budget On Pirates Of The Caribbean 5

After the failed box-office expectations of John Carter and The Lone Ranger, aka flops, Disney is now worried that their hundreds of million dollar budgets might be too much of a gamble to take, and for that reason they are now thinking to cut down the budget for the next Pirates of the Caribbean installment from 250 million to a “miserly” 200.

Although the previous Pirates installment was the poorest to date, bringing Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg should give a creative boost to the much needed franchise and hopefully shed some of the bad box-office Karma, Disney has been having.

Having said that, Disney owns Marvel so … Yeh (Avengers and Iron Man 3).

Now John Carter failed expectation not necessarily because it’s a terrible movie, it failed because from my perspective it didn’t had great marketing, therefor most people didn’t knew what the movie was about. Regarding The Lone Ranger, it’s probably because the trend is superhero movies? You think?

In any case, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 opens on July 10th, 2015.
