Although
both universes are from Marvel, the rights belong to different studios, so let’s
begin by not getting confused with the character, the films and the actors.
Bryan
Singer, the director of X-Men: Days Of Future Past announced some time ago the
he would have the character Quicksilver in his movie and that the character
would be played by actor Evan Peters from American Horror Story.
Joss
Whedon, the director of The Avengers 2 also announced (although earlier) that
he would also have the character and his sister (Scarlet Witch) in the film.
OK
Regarding
Joss Whedon’s The Avengers 2, the rumor is that Kick-Ass, aka Aaron
Taylor-Johnson is the frontrunner to play Quicksilver. According to The Wrap,
Marvel is interested Taylor-Johnson for the part of Quicksilver, the speedy mutant,
son of Magneto and brother of Scarlet Witch.
Now,
because the rights for both films are owned by different studios, meaning Fox
Studios owns X-Men and Marvel owns Avengers, some things are bound to go wrong.
For instance, in The Avengers 2, no one can mention Quicksilver’s father (Magneto),
because the rights for that character are owned by Fox, they can’t even mention
the word mutant in Avengers because it belongs to Fox, so there might be a
problem there. Lets just hope that the fact that Whedon can’t explain either
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch’s background led to a weird plug in for the
characters.
I
repeat what I’ve said in a previous post, TALK and fix this mess, but because
it’s doubtful they would do that, what do you think, who will be a better
Quicksilver, Evan Peters in X-Men or Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers?
