Bryan
Singer the director of the highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past has
released another picture through his twitter account, of the actor Patrick
Stewart trying out his Professor X outfit and posing either for a publicity
shot or for production purposes, with the caption;
“Picture before
picture. Tomorrow it begins.”
X-Men: Days of Future Past has started shooting
today and anticipation for its released is starting to get high. According to
Bryan Singer, X-Men: Days of Future Past is going to be the biggest film he has
ever made.
Now, for those of you that are familiar with time
travel and its implication, you are wondering, but the same person cannot exist
in the same space and time, well Singer has this to say about that, in an
interview to Empire;
“We’ve cracked it in a way that it makes
sense. I had a two-hour conversation with James Cameron about time travel,
string theory, multiverses and all that. You have to create your rules and
stick wtih them. That’s why Terminator and Back To The Future work so well. And
there are certain mechanisms in X-Men, certain powers, perceptions, and
characters that make this possible.”
So does that mean that we will be seeing Rachel?
“It has a lot of aspects of the comic.
The actual comic of Days Of Future Past had a whole ton of stuff going on, so
it’s like any of these things; you have to distill it. But I think the fans
will be pleased that some of the most exciting parts of Days Of Future Past are
going to be connected to this movie.”
So how about the other movies?
“I’m taking into account every movie –
I’m not just grabbing my first two movies and First Class and smashing them
together. I’m taking into account the entire universe as it’s been laid out so
far on the screen, and really respecting it and trying to work with that.
People took things in various directions, so there’s some clean-up. But
ultimately I’m not just ignoring them either.”
P.S. (Possible
Spoiler)
Rachel or Rachel Summers among other powers and abilities, she
uses the chronoskimming, which allows her to manipulate time in a variety of
ways. She transplants the mind of a person and sends it through time into
either a younger/older, a close ancestor/descendent or simply as a disembodie
astral version of themselves.
