Netflix
has released the first teaser for Mindhunter, a new miniseries directed by
David Fincher ("Seven"), Asif Kapadia ("Amy"), Tobais
Lindholm ("A Hijacking"), and Andrew Douglas ("The Amityville
Horror").
Based
on the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by authors
John Douglas and Mark Olshanker, the series takes place in 1979 and centers on
two FBI agents who interview several serial killers in an attempt to solve
current murders.
Premiering
this coming October on the streaming giant, the series stars Anna Torv, Holt
McCallany, Jonathan Groff, Hannah Gross, Tyler James Larkin, Cotter Smith, and Cameron
Britton.
Fincher, Joshua Donen ("Gone Girl," "The
Quick and the Dead") Charlize Theron ("Hatfields & McCoys")
and Cean Chaffin ("Gone Girl," "Fight Club")
serve as executive producers.
