Fans of Marvel's Planet Hulk storyline that were eager
to see Hulk's gladiatorial adventures on the far away planet of Sakaar brought
to the big screen will have to contend with just a fraction of the popular
story in this year's Thor Ragnarok.
Yesterday, February 14, as part of the Digital HD
release of Doctor Strange, Marvel unveiled two brand new pieces of concept art
for Thor: Ragnarok, one featuring Hela (Cate Blanchett) standing over Thor (Chris
Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and a second featuring Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) in his
gladiatorial attire battling Thor in an arena.
Thor: Ragnarok also stars Karl Urban, Idris Elba,
Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, and Anthony Hopkins.
Directed Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters
on November 3.
"In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is
imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and
finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok –
the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the
hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett). But
first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his
former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk! (Mark Ruffalo)"
