
David Ayer, who
directed the divisive DC movie Suicide Squad, will be reteaming with Margot
Robbie and her unhinged Harley Quinn character for Gotham City Sirens, another
DC movie centered on a group of supervillains, this time all-female.
According to THR,
Ayer will direct and produce the film with Robbie who, in addition to reprising
her role has Quinn, will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
Gotham City Sirens
was a DC Comics storyline centered on the villains Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy.
Geneva
Robertson-Dworet, who finished penning the scripts for the Tomb Raider reboot,
and Sherlock Holmes 3 not too long ago, is currently writing the screenplay for Gotham City
Sirens.
Warner is still
developing the sequel to Ayer's Suicide Squad, and is considering a spinoff
centered on Will Smith's Deadshot, however this project is the one furthest
along according to THR.
Ayer is near wrapping
Bright, a Netflix fantasy thriller starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton.
