Actors Zach Galifianakis ("Hangover"),
André Holland ("Moonlight"), Will McCormack ("Elf"), Levi
Miller ("Pan"), Rowan Blanchard ("Girl Meets World"), Bellamy
Young ("Scandal"), and newcomer Deric McCabe have joined the cast of Ava
DuVernay's A Wrinkle In Time.
Based on
Madeleine L'Engle's 1962 novel with a script by Academy Award winning
director Jennifer Lee ("Frozen"), the film centers on a girl named Meg who with her small brother
Charles, and friend Calvin, go on a heart-stopping journey through space in
search of her scientist father who went missing while experimenting with time
travel.
Galifianakis will play The Happy
Medium, Miller is Calvin, McCabe is Charles Wallace, and Holland plays
Principal Jenkins. McCormack, Blanchard, and Young's characters are at this
moment unknown.
Also in the
film are Storm Reid as Meg, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as
Dr. Kate Murray, a microbiologist and Meg's mother, Oprah Winfrey as Mrs.
Which, Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, and Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who.
