Academy
Award winning actor Benicio Del Toro is in talks to star in Shane Black's ("Iron
Man 3," "The Nice Guys") upcoming Predator sequel/reboot for
20th Century Fox.
Details
are being kept a secret for the time being, but according to The Hollywood Reporter,
the new movie will be an ensemble piece anchored by Del Toro's character.
It seems
both the studio and the actor have been talking for a few months now, but the
actor's busy schedule prevented them from reaching a deal.
Black actually appeared in the 1987 Predator by John McTiernan. In the film, the
future director played Hawkins alongside Carl Weathers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Elpidia
Carrillo, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham, Richard Chaves, R.G.
Armstrong, and Kevin Peter Hall.
Predator
has been scheduled to go into production on February of 2017.
