With The Vampire
Diaries on its way out, The CW is looking ahead to find a blood-sucking
replacement, and it seems they found it in Lost Boys.
The network is
planning a seven-season spin on Joel Schumacher's 1987 cult film with Veronica
Mars and iZombie creator Rob Thomas in charge of the ambitious adaptation, with
each season chronicling a decade and exploring what it means to be immortal.
Per Deadline, "season
one will be set in San Francisco during the Summer of Love, 1967. Each season,
the humans, the setting, the antagonist and the story all change — only the vampires,
our Lost Boys, who like the Peter Pan characters never grow up, remain the
same."
The original film
starred Jason Patrick, Corey Haim, Jami Gertz, Kiefer Sutherland, Alex Winter,
Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, and Corey Feldman.
