While we eagerly wait for the trailer to come out tomorrow, Sony Pictures
and MGM have released the first set of images from Antoine Fuqua's remake of
The Magnificent Seven.
The pictures offer a first look at the core cast of the film, which
includes Denzel Washington (Sam Chisolm), Ethan Hawke (Goodnight Robicheaux), Chris Pratt (Josh Farraday), Vincent D'Onofrio (Jack Horne), Byung-hun Lee (Billy Rocks), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Vasquez), and Martin Sensmeier (Red Harvest).
"These guys are gunslingers, and when they walk into the room, you
notice them," Fuqua says. "These are people you want to be with, or
you want to protect you."
Based on John Sturges 1960 remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 masterful drama the Seven Samurai, Fuqua's film also stars Haley Bennett, Matt Bomer, Cam
Gigandet, Vinnie Jones, Sean Bridgers, Luke Grimes, and William Lee Scott.
The Magnificent Seven opens in theaters on September 23.
Director Antoine
Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the town of Rose
Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter
Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws,
bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh
Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent
D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red
Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown
that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for
more than money.
