Unforgettable actress
Tawny Cypress has been cast in a recurring role on NBC's planned spinoff to their
hit drama series, The Blacklist. The actress is set to play Nez Rowan (previously
known as Harper), and will first appear on the main show before jumping to the
new show.
Cypress, who fans also know from her roles in NBC's Heroes, Netflix's House of Cards, and CBS' Supergirl,
joins returning cast members Edi Gathegi and Ryan Eggold, as well as newcomer Famke Janssen, who will also join the main series before starring in the spinoff.
NBC hasn't released
any official statement regarding the spinoff's premise but the word is that it
will center on Janssen's Susan "Scottie" Halstead character and her
relationship with Tom Keen (Eggold), which apparently is similar to that of Red
(James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone) in the original show.
Creator and executive
producer Jon Bokenkamp and executive producer and showrunner John Eisendrath will
plant the series for the spinoff on the 322 episode of the series, which will
air on May 12, a week after Janssen's debut on the show.
