How I Met Your mother
star Neil Patrick Harris and The Tick star Patrick Warburton have both joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming adaptation of author Daniel Handler series of best-selling
children's books, A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Narrated by Lemony Snicket (Warburton), the story follows three
orphan siblings, Violet (Malina Weissman),
Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny Baudelaire
who seek to discover the secret behind their parents’
death, all while facing trials and tribulations at the hands of their evil
Count Olaf (Harris), whose only goal is to acquire
their inheritance by any means necessary.
Barry
Sonnenfeld is attached to direct and executive produce the 8-episode series,
which will also star K. Todd Freeman (The Dark Knight) as Mr. Poe, a
clueless and naïve banker with a good heart.
