Merely days after announcing
that a fifth Indiana Jones movie was officially in development with filmmaker
Steven Spielberg and star Harrison Ford returning, Disney and Lucasfilm have
now revealed whom they have chosen to write the script for the project.
Indiana Jones and the
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull screenwriter David Koepp has signed on to write the
newest adventure in the Indian Jones franchise. Besides Crystal Skull, Koepp's
partnership with Spielberg dates back to 1993 when he and Michael Crichton loosely
adapted Crichton's Jurassic Park novel. Since then Koepp has worked for the
filmmaker on two other occasions, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and War of the
Worlds.
It's unclear whether Koepp
will be working off previously written material, or if he is the first writer
to tackle the project.
During his career Koepp
has worked with several famous directors such as Robert Zemeckis (Death Becomes
Her), Brian De Palma (Carlito's Way, Mission: Impossible, Snake Eyes), Sam
Raimi (Spider-Man), David Fincher (Panic Room), and Ron Howard (The Paper,
Angels & Demons, Inferno).
Koepp has also
directed several projects most noticeable Secret Window, Ghost Town, Premium
Rush, and Mortdecai.
