Marvel Studios has hired
screenwriter Stephany Folsom to work on the Thor: Ragnarok script, which was previously
worked on by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost.
Folsom is perhaps best
known for her 2013 long titled Black List script, 1969: A Space Odyssey or How
Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon, which tells the story of
how a publicist convinces filmmaker Stanley Kubrick to work with NASA in faking
the moon landing.
What We Do In The
Shadows co-writer and co-director Taika Waititi is set to helm the third Thor installment,
which sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and
Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
Folsom is the third
female screenwriter to join the predominantly male Marvel family. She walks on
the path laid out by Nicole Perlman, who wrote Guardians of the Galaxy, and who
is currently writing Captain Marvel with fellow screenwriter Meg LeFauve (Inside
Out).
Thor: Ragnarok opens
in theaters on November 3, 2017.
