Presumed
dead, The Crow continues to seek his moment to shine on the big screen. According
to a new report via The Wrap, the project, which has seen its fair share of
tribulations is moving forward and will be Relativity's first production post-bankruptcy.
Director
Corin Hardy continues attached to project, which will once again see Eric
Draven return from the land of the dead to exact vengeance on his killers with
the help of mystical crow.
The
project has been through several setbacks, including losing Hardy,
with the last one being in September when Crow producer Edward R. Pressman
filed an objection to the project being included among the several assets
Relativity had lined up for potential buyers.
According
to the filling, the studio had spent "in excess of $7 million" on the
project, which would have reverted to Pressman if production hadn't started
within three years from when the deal was first signed, but with principal
photography expected to begin sometime in the first quarter of 2016, Relativity
is no longer at risk of losing not only the rights to The Crow but also
sequels, prequels and remakes.
Over
the years, several actors were attached to lead the project, but with all the
legal and financial delays, none remained. The last star set to play the lead
character was Jack Huston.
