Michael Stuhlbarg is in talks with Marvel to join
director Scott Derrickson in London this December to shoot Marvel's first foray into
the world of the supernatural and parallel dimensions, Doctor Strange.
The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular
doctor, Tilda Swinton as his mentor the Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron
Mordo, Mads Mikkelsen, and Rachel McAdams.
Having played a key role in Men in Black 3, Stuhlbarg is
not a complete novice to this kind of project, though we can usually see him in
more dramatic roles such as Larry Gopnik in the Coen brothers' A Serious Man,
as Andy Hertzfeld in the Oscar contender Steve Jobs, or as Arnold Rothstein on
HBO's hit drama Boardwalk Empire.
Marvel's Doctor Strange opens on November 4, 2016.
