Surprise! I bet
you weren't expecting Fox from removing the sequel to the widely praised and
box-office juggernaut Fantastic Four from their official release schedule were
you.
Sarcasm aside, with
the amount of bad press the reboot received before and after hitting theaters,
plus such an abysmal box-office and even worse critic and fan response, it is
only natural that Fox would pull Fantastic Four 2 from its June 9, 2017 release
date despite their initial insistence that it was coming. Maybe they thought
that a superhero blockbuster wouldn't fail in this day and age.
At this time it's
unclear if Fox is still working on a sequel or a re-reboot, but for now it
looks like the sequel has been shelved permanently.
