Warner Bros. has put
their faith on writer Seth Grahame-Smith to bring The Flash out of the comic
book pages and into the big screen, with Ezra Miller set to play Barry Allen, the
titular speedster.
The studio seems to
have trust in Smith since his only directing credits so far are two episodes of
MTV's The Hard Times of RJ Berger, which he co-created with David Katzenberg.
Maybe his work on the Lego Batman movie convinced Warner to let him try and
tackle such a big undertaking.
Best known for
penning the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire
Hunter novels, Smith will make his directorial debut with the project, which he
will also write following a treatment done by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, whom
were circling the project as their next directorial effort, but chose to go and
work on the Star Wars spinoff centered on Han Solo.
Although he is making
his solo outing on March 3, 2018, Miller's Flash will first appear in Batman v
Superman: Dawn of Justice, and then in Justice League Part 1.
