British actor Stephen
Graham has joined USA Network's adaptation of the IDW Publishing comic book
series, Brooklyn Animal Control, created by JT Petty. The pilot will be
directed by Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones), who will also executive produce the
pilot alongside David S. Goyer.
Brooklyn Animal Control follows
the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social
services for some of the city’s most unique citizens — werewolves. Delving into
the lives of both the Case Officers including John Crean (Graham), and the secretive, highly
insular Kveld-Ulf, a community of werewolves living deep in the borough, Brooklyn Animal Control will
examine city politics, immigrant communities, and families divided by ambition,
secrecy, and tradition.
Having recently
played Al Capone in HBO's Boardwalk Empire, Graham is also known for his roles
in such projects as Parade's End, Public Enemies, Gangs of New York, Pirates of
the Caribbean franchise, Band of Brothers, Snatch, and This Is England, a on and
off mini-series.
Brooklyn Animal
Control is merely one of several projects IDW is hoping to adapt. Other ones
include Life Undead, and V Wars.
