Guillermo del Toro's usual collaborator (5 movies), Ron Perlman has joined
the cast of David Yates' upcoming Harry
Potter prequel of sorts, Fantastic Beasts and Where To
Find Them, where he will play a goblin.
Plot details are slim at this point, but the film, which was penned by J.K. Rowling, is set seventy years prior to the events
of the first Harry Potter installment, and will star Eddie Redmayne as Newt
Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who
stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures.
Opening on November 18, 2016, Fantastic Beasts and
Where To Find Them also stars Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, Ezra Miller, Alison
Sudol, Samantha Morton, Katherine Waterston, Jenn Murray, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma
Chan, and Faith Wood-Blagrove.
