"Lizzie Borden had an axe, she
gave her mother 40 whacks, when she saw what she had done, she gave her father
41."
Golden Globe
winner Chloë Sevigny has joined Pieter Van Hees' (Waste Land) upcoming psychological
thriller about the gruesome murders of the Borden Family. Sevigny will play the
titular character, who was tried but ultimately acquitted from murdering her
father and stepmother with an axe in 1892.
As for Kristen Stewart, the Cesar award-winning
actress has entered negotiations to play Bridget Sullivan, the Borden's family
live-in maid, who testified in court about the tension in the family and who
may have been in the house at the time of the killings.
The yet untitled film will explore
the events that led to that fateful evening.
In charge of writing the script is
Bryce Kass, whose only screenwriting credit so far is the made for TV movie
titled Outlaw Prophet: Warren Jeffs, starring Tony Goldwyn, Martin Landau,
Molly Parker, Joey King, and David Keith.
