Since taking over the
feature film development and production duties of the DC Comics' Vertigo imprint
back in June from corporate sibling Warner Bros., who is busy building their DC
movie universe, New Line has set in motion new plans to bring Brian Azzarello and
Eduardo Risso's acclaimed comic series 100 Bullets to the big screen.
After a couple of failed
attempts, one as a TV series with David Goyer, and one as a movie by Akiva
Goldsman's Weed Road, New Line is now teaming up with Tom Hardy and Dean Baker,
who will produce the project under their Hardy Son & Baker production
company. Besides his producing responsibilities, Hardy is also looking to star
in the adaptation.

The plot for the
feature film adaptation of 100 Bullets is being kept under lock and key, but
it seems that the project will stay true to the comic. If
that's the case we could then end up seeing Hardy playing Agent Graves, an
enigmatic man that offers strangers a gun with 100 rounds of untraceable
ammunition and the details of the person who ruined their lives.
100 Bullets ran for
100 issues between 1999 and 2009, and won a few awards including Eisner and
Harvey Awards for Azzarello, Risso, and the comic itself.
