Because we buy
anything Star Wars related, Lucasfilm, Disney, and 20th Century Fox Home
Entertainment are about to release yet another version of the same version they
have released time and time again, but with different packaging.
This new Definitive, Special,
Commemorative, HD, Remastered, Digital, Complete, Limited Edition Blu-Ray
Steelbooks will be available for a limited time beginning November 10th, with
pre-orders starting in just a couple of days on August 7th.
Each film comes with
its own airbrushed character cover that includes Darth Maul for The
Phantom Menace, Yoda for Attack of the Clones, General Grievous
for Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader for A New Hope, an Imperial
Stormtrooper for The Empire Strikes Back, and Emperor
Palpatine for Return of the Jedi. Where are Han, Luke, and Leia you
ask, well your guess is as good as mine, but perhaps the actors didn't signed
off on it, or perhaps their likeness is being held for another limited release
that will probably come after the release of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force
Awakens.
Each Blu-Ray will
come with "existing audio commentary with George Lucas and the film crew
as well as audio commentary from archival interviews with the cast and crew."
Star Wars: The
Complete Saga will also be released shortly with new artwork on October 13.
I complain, but will
probably buy it.
