With Nacho Vigalondo's giant
lizard movie Colossal currently on hold due to legal issues, Academy Award
winning actress Anne Hathaway as moved on to other projects, particularly one
that will have her face off against men-turned-aliens.
Per THR, Hathaway is set to
produce and star in an upcoming Blacklist sci-fi comedy project titled The
Shower from Jac Schaeffer (TiMER). The Shower starts with a baby shower that
gets struck by a meteor shower capable of turning men into brutal aliens,
leaving only the women to fight them, and save the world.
"Jac has written
an awesome sci-fi comedy centered around funny, fully dimensional female
characters," said Hathaway. "I feel so lucky to be a part of the team
that will bring her enormously talented and fresh voice to the big
screen."
"Anne is the perfect
actor to anchor a story that is ultimately about female friendship, with a lot
of ass-kicking along the way," said Schaeffer.
The Shower is being
described as similar in tone to This is the End, Attack the Block, and
Bridsmaids.
