Fox has decided to change the story of their upcoming Minority Report
series based on Steven Spielberg's 2002 film starring Tom Cruise. Thought not
significantly, the network has decided that actor Stark Sands will no longer be
playing twin brothers Dash and Arthur, but just Dash, with One Big Happy actor
Nick Zano filling in for Arthur.
It's unclear what made Fox decide to go this route, but the change
obviously means that Arthur and Dash aren't identical twins anymore, but
fraternal instead.
Arthur is described as having a hard shell that was
borne of years of difficult experience in the outside world that Dash avoided.
Arthur is confident and self-assured, even Machiavellian in his interaction
with the world that once exploited him. So while Dash selflessly and
heroically tries to stop the future murders he sees in his precognitive
visions, his estranged twin uses his gift to consolidate personal wealth and
power in the building of an empire. Stronger together as a complete unit,
they help one another from time to time, but, in the long run, both are bad for
each other’s business.
Minority Report premieres on September 21.
