Animation and Nelvana have announced that they working on a small screen
version of Hotel Transylvania. To be developed and produced by Corus Entertainment’s
Nelvana Studio in Toronto, the TV series will focus on the teenage years of
Dracula's daughter, Mavis, and her friends.
"The
hilarious characters and clever premise of Hotel Transylvania set the stage for
endless story possibilities," said Colin Bohm, VP and Head of Corus
Kids, while Sony Animation President Kristine Belson adds,
"audiences have embraced the world and characters of Hotel Transylvania,
so we are thrilled to be partnering with Nelvana to take them on new
adventures."
At
this point it's unclear if the voice talent behind the film, which includes Adam Sandler, Selena
Gomez, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Kevin James, Fran
Drescher, Molly Shannon and Mel Brooks, will reprise their roles.
Hotel Transylvania 2
hits theaters this September 25, while the TV series is being eyed for an early
2017 premiere.
