Though everyone was in fear of hearing the words
origin story associated with the new Spider-Man film, Marvel Studios President
Kevin Feige has decided to skip that as he assumes and well that by now everyone
knows who Spidey is and where he came from.
"There is a young kid [already] running around
New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU," says Feige. "You
just don’t know it yet… In Spider-Man’s very specific case, where there have
been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it’s been – [thirteen]
years – for us we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and
the specifics."
Feige also adds, "we’ve already designed the costume, which is different than any of the ones that have
come before. And yet ours is classic Spidey, as I think you’ll see."
Expect to hear a casting announcement very soon
since Spider-Men will make his MCU debut on Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain
America: Civil War, which beings principal photography in a just a few weeks on
April 27, and will be released on May 6, 2016.
Spider-Man's solo outing will be written and
directed by Drew Goddard, and will hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
