While Avengers: Age of Ultron plays the waiting game until
its release on May 1st, Captain America: Civil War gets ready to start
shooting. Casting calls with a start of production date set for April 1st have
gone out in Atlanta, and although it's unclear whether or not they are for the
first or second units, the matter of the fact is that Marvel, and directors Joe
and Anthony Russo are ready and confidant that they can proceed with the third
Captain America installment before the box-office numbers for Avengers 2 have
come in.
In addition, Marvel also released the first synopsis
for the film, which picks up after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron
Following the events of Age of Ultron, the
collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all
superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two
factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle
between former allies.
Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to hit theaters
on May 6, 2016, and so far the only confirmed cast is Chris Evans, Scarlett
Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Daniel Brühl, and Chadwick Boseman.
