At the TCA Winter Press Tour, producer Frank Marshall
took the time to talk with Collider about the Bourne franchises, and director
Richard Donner's sequel to Goonies.
In regards to whether both Bourne franchises starring
Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner will ever come together, Marshall says never say
never, but not now.
"We don’t have plans for
that. You never know. I never say never. But that’s not the
plan. They’re on separate tracks."
Well if the reunion between Damon and
Paul Greengrass proves to be as successful as the previous films, and if Renner
part of it improves, then you might see a crossover in the very near future.
As for the sequel to the 1985 Goonies
he says that he and director Richard Donner have talked about, but for now
there isn't a script.
"It’s in discussion. He’s
talked to us about it, and we’ve talked to him. It’s all about the
story. We don’t just do sequels to do them. The story has to be
there."
This was one of my favorite
films when I was a kid, so the prospect of a sequel isn't all that appealing to
me, but if there is an audience waiting for it and IF the script is good then
Goonies 2 shouldn't be too far along.
What do you think of the
Bournes crossing over, and Goonies 2?
