While doing the press rounds for his
latest film Kingsman: The Secret Service, director Matthew Vaughn not only
revealed that he has seen Josh Trank's reboot of the Fantastic Four, but that
it is good.
“I’ve
seen the movie, it’s good,” Vaughn said. “I
thought Chronicle was a fantastic movie and [Josh] Trank has gone off and done
his version of Fantastic Four. If you like Chronicle, then you’ll like this.
We’re all backing Josh Trank’s vision. And hopefully the world will like Josh Trank’s vision.”
Some fans are still on the fence regarding Trank's
reboot. The little that we officially know doesn't inspire much confidence, and
the lack of any promotional content doesn't help, but having a director like
Vaughn give the thumbs up on the film certainly bodes well. However since both
the Fantastic Four reboot, and his Kingsman: The Secret Service are housed at
Fox, it's a little unclear if he's being genuine or just trying to score some
points with the studio. Let's hope it's the former.
What do you think?
