Warner Bros. Reveals Official DC Film Schedule; Justice League Get's Split Into Two; Casting And Much, Much More

Warner Bros. have just released a press release with the full schedule for their films based on DC properties. The first film following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be (surprisingly) Suicide Squad in 2016 to be directed by David Ayer. Wonder Woman, and Justice League Part 1 directed by Zack Snyder are set for 2017 followed in 2018 with Aquaman starring Jason Momoa, and The Flash starring Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower). Justice League Part 2 and Shazam starring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam are set to hit theaters in 2019 followed by Cyborg and Green Lantern in 2020.

Just another look at the full schedule:

2016
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Suicide Squad - August 5
2017
Wonder Woman - June 13
Justice League Part 1 - November 23
2018
The Flash - March 23
Aquaman - July 27
2019
Shazam - April 5
Justice League Part 2 - June 14
2020
Cyborg - April 3
Green Lantern - June 19

Surprises:
I'm still in awe that Warner has decided to follow-up BvS with the much lesser known Suicide Squad. I'm guessing they are thinking about riding on the expected success of Zack Snyder's film to introduce the government owned and controlled supervillain team.

Justice League gets split into two films! And before you ask, yes Zack Snyder will helm both films, and stars Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, and Henry Cavill are set to reprise their roles in the first entry of JL. As for the second installment no word except Snyder's return.

The Flash! No not the one from tv, it's a new one, although the one from tv is also new, but forget the one from tv for now. The casting of The Perks of Being a Wallflower actor, Ezra Miller as DC's Scarlet Speedster puts to rest the weird rumor that Scoot McNairy, who was seen on the set of BvS wearing green socks, is The Flash. Unless he is the Flash but loses his legs (hence the green socks) and Miller replaces him as the new Flash (just kidding). No actually, according to THR, Miller will be playing Barry Allen, the same as Grant Gustin in the tv show (i'm seeing the confusion already).

Cyborg! Actor Ray Fisher was cast months ago as Vic Stone, aka Cyborg for the upcoming BvS. His role was expected to be just a cameo of sorts before he turns into Cyborg, but given that he has a standalone movie coming up I will assume that it will be a bit more than just that.

Green Lantern! Yeah! Bring back…NO!...It makes sense that the studio would want to reboot the character, the question now is which one? Alan Scott? Hal Jordan? Guy Gardner? John Stewart? Kyle Rayner? Simon Baz?

Just one other thing! Where is Man of Steel 2 and Batman solo film? Will they come out after 2020 or will the studio drop on here and there in between all this madness?

What do you think of all this?
