Marvel Comics has announced that coming January 2015, Scott
Lang, aka Ant-Man will get his own ongoing series written by Nick Spencer and
illustrated by Ramon Rosanas.
"The book kicks off with a call
from Tony Stark, which plunges Lang into a whole new era of super heroics like
only he can pull off."
Spencer tells Marvel News that he
began pushing for the project in 2013 but the publisher wasn't clear on what
they wanted to do with Ant-Man then, and only this year he was allowed to pitch
the idea for a new Ant-Man series, which got greenlit with a month.

As for what drives the character to
do what he does, Spencer says that Lang's late daughter Cassie is the main
motivator.
"Coincidentally," actor
Paul Rudd will be playing Scott Lang in the July 17, 2015 Ant-Man live-action film
opposite Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian,
John Slattery, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson
(Togetherness), Judy Greer, Wood Harris (Remember the Titans), Gregg Turkington
(The Comedy), T.I. (American Gangster), and Martin Donovan.
