Universal Picks Up The Rights For Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles

Feature film adaptations of Anne Rice's novels have been a hit and a miss, and were never fully explored. Now Universal Pictures have acquired the rights to adapt Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, for Brian Grazer and Imagine Entertainment, who (i'm assuming) will start with the first novel from the series, which consists of Interview with the Vampire (1976) The Vampire Lestat (1985), The Queen of the Damned (1988), The Tale of the Body Thief (1992), Memnoch the Devil (1995), The Vampire Armand (1998), Merrick (2000), Blood and Gold (2001), Blackwood Farm (2002), Blood Canticle (2003) and the upcoming Prince Lestat.

The omnipresent team of Alex Kurtzman, ad Roberto Orci are on board as producers.
