Director Ridley Scott has been busy lately.
He's currently in post-production with Exodus: Gods and Kings, which is
schedule to hit theaters on December 14, and already has his next film all
planned out, the adaptation of Andy Weird's novel The Martian featuring Matt
Damon. But these aren't the only projects Scott is busy trying to put together,
the director also has the sequels to Blade Runner, and Prometheus, which are in
a more advanced state than we originally thought.
In regards to The Martian, Scott says that he
already storyboarded everything, and will begin shooting in November in
Budapest, Hungary, and then in Wadi Rum, Jordan for the Mars scenes.
As for the Blade Runner sequel, the director
says that, “it’s
written and it’s damn good.” The original screenwriter Hampton Fancher,
and newcomer to the franchise, Michael Green, wrote the sequel.
Scott also confirmed that he plans to have Harrison Ford reprise his Rick
Deckard role.
“Of course it involves Harrison, who is a survivor
after all these years—despite the accident (referring to Ford’s “Star Wars”
injury). So yes, that will happen.”
As for the sequel to his less well received,
Prometheus, Scott says that he has too many things on his plate, but they are
all moving along.
“That’s
the problem, I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row. But
they’re all written.”
Prometheus 2 is set to open on March 4, 2016. Do
you think Scott can meet the deadline?
