One of
Marvel's most anticipated movies is without a shadow of a doubt Doctor Strange.
Marvel announced not too long ago that Deliver Us From Evil, and Sinister
director, Scott Derrickson had been tapped to helm project, which counts with a
screenplay by Prometheus scribe (one of) Jon Spaihts.
In a
recent episode of Meet the Movie Press, Devin Faraci of Badass Digest claimed
that the Sorcerer Supreme movie won't be an origin story. He goes on to say
that Marvel won't be doing origin stories anymore.
"So, for Dr. Strange
they've had a script in-house forever. It is a pretty standard origin story for
Doctor Strange. It's got Baron Mordo as the bad guy. That's all gone. Marvel's
new thing is no more origin stories. So, Dr. Strange movie no longer has an origin.
It begins in medias res. It has Dr. Strange already established as the Sorcerer
Supreme. It is a totally new script. Jon Spaihts is working totally new, on his
own, without any of the previous stuff. Not even touching the previous script." - Devin Faraci

I know, we all know that the Stephen
Strange name was dropped in a scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as
someone in S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra list of people to keep an eye on, but that's was
more of a tease than anything else.
As always take it with a grain of
salt, but what do you think of maybe jumping in without an origin story?
