Last week Ant-Man fans got a
shock when it was announced that director Edgar Wright had parted ways with
Marvel Studios on the big screen adaptation of Ant-Man, which Wright had been
attached since 2006.
After a healthy dose of
speculation as to why Wright had left, the Latino Review posted an article
saying that the director had left the movie because of the script. Apparently
Marvel wasn't all to happy with Wright
and co-writer Joe Cornish's script and had other writers rewrite it, resulting
in a script that didn't line up with the director's vision of what Ant-Man was.
Now, THR develops the LR story,
and adds other behind-the-scenes problems, including the fact that the film was
so behind schedule that department heads left production all together, might
had been a factor for the split.
The search for a new director is
currently ongoing and Marvel has announced that they would be hiring new crew
shortly, so it wouldn't impact the previously set July 17th, 2015 release date.
