Earlier this morning The Wrap
announced that We're the Miller's director Rawson Thurber was the frontrunner
to replace Edgar Wright in Ant-Man. Now a new report via AICN, THR, and The
Wrap, says that Anchorman 1 and 2, director Adam McKay, who is famous for his
ad lib style of shooting, is in final talks with the studio to helm Ant-Man.
"Marvel made the offer this afternoon, and both
sides are expected to work out a deal," claims the AICN, who adds, "sources now indicate that McKay is eager to take on
the challenge of replacing fanboy favorite Wright, and would likely accept the
job should Marvel tender an official offer."
Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd,
who is a frequent collaborator of McKay's, Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson, and Matt Gerald. Evangeline Lilly,
Corey Stoll, Michael Peña, and Clifton Collins Jr. are reportedly in talks.
