According to THR, 20th Century Fox just acquired the
rights for the adaptation of Alex Raymond's 1934 sci-fi comic strip, turned comic
book Flash Gordon.
Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne will be drafting the
adaptation, based on the outline made by writer/director George Nolfi (The
Adjustment Bureau).
Flash Gordon follows the titular hero's interplanetary
adventures on the planet Mongo, which is ruled by Ming the Merciless. Flash
Gordon makes himself accompanied by his love interest, Dale Arden and the mad
scientist Dr. Hans Zarkov.
