Fox is moving ahead with the sequel to their 2012 surprise
hit, Chronicle. The studio has tapped screenwriter Jack Stanley to pen the script for Chronicle 2. Stanley only has (that i can find) one other writing credit to his
name, and that is of Sweetheart, a movie about a female assassin that tries to leave the business but has her
plans go awry when she goes to her high school reunion.
The first movie cost $12 million to make and grossed
$126 million, so a sequel was always in the plans. Chronicle was co-written by Max
Landis and Josh Trank who also directed it, and starred Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, Michael B. Jordan and Michael Kelly.
