Production on Josh Trank’s
Fantastic Four reboot is set to begin next month, but despite the recent cast
announcement there are still a lot of ifs and rumors, mainly regarding the
origin stories, which some say will be completely different.
In an interview to Empire
Magazine, producer Matthew Vaughn had some words to say about the reboot, while
at the same time making some hard criticisms about the previous two films.
"It's a total reboot, that's
for sure," he said. "It's got nothing to do with the
other bloody ones. It's not stretchy guy and a guy running around in rock that
looks like it's made polystyrene. And its not a comedy."
Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan,
Miles Teller and actress Kata Mara have been cast has the upcoming Fantastic
Four. Teller will play Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic. Mara will play Sue
Storm, aka The Invisible Woman, Jordan will play Johnny Storm, aka The Human
Torch and Bell will play Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.
The Fantastic Four opens on June
19th, 2015.
